Liv Dawn is a singer-songwriter from Loch Lomond, known for her unique blend of pop and folk music. Drawing inspiration from the stunning landscapes of her homeland, Liv creates songs that bring a sense of peace and connection to nature. Her lyrics, much like storytelling, captures the everyday experiences and emotions of life and relationships.

Having played at acclaimed Scottish venues including Oran Mor, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Liv captivates her audience through her powerful vocals and intimate performances. Liv has also performed at a variety of festivals including HowTheLightGetsIn, Belladrum, Eden Festival and Leigh Folk Festival: being crowned Leigh Folk Festival’s Open Mic Competition Winner as well as ‘Acoustic Act of the Year’ runner-up for the Weekender Awards.

In 2019, Liv was selected as a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Singer-Songwriter of the Year Award. Her performance at the live final at Saint Luke’s in Glasgow earned praise from judges, including Horse McDonald, who noted that Liv’s talent had “grown a hundred-fold” throughout the competition. Presenter Ricky Ross of Deacon Blue also praised Liv, saying she was “absolutely amazing,” with a presence that felt natural on stage.

During the competition, Liv’s song ‘Welcome Home’ gained airplay on BBC Radio Scotland’s Mornings with Kaye Adams and The Afternoon Show with Grant Stott. After her performance, Grant Stott commented, “we look forward to following what is undoubtedly going to be a very exciting musical career.”

The exposure from the competition helped Liv gain media attention, with features in the BBC, Scottish Field, Daily Record and The Observer. After the competition, Liv released a studio version of ‘Welcome Home’, which was well-received by online publications and radio stations, including Amazing Radio and BBC Radio Scotland. Charlie Ashcroft from Amazing Radio called the song “one of those records that feels like it’s been around for years.”

"With oodles and oodles of vocal prowess and true lyrical talent, Liv Dawn is set to establish herself as a wonderful wordsmith and a striking star on the rise." - Help Yourself Music

In 2020, Liv had the opportunity to support Tom Walker on his U.K. Home Run Tour, performing in Forres. This experience was a significant moment in her career, helping to further establish her career. Liv then graduated from The Academy of Music and Sound in Glasgow in 2021 with a first-class honors degree and was awarded the Academy’s Rev Hammer Songwriting Award for her impressive portfolio of songs.

In 2022, Liv focused on writing and recording new material, leading to the release of her debut EP, Beautiful Daydream, in the summer of 2023. The EP features five personal tracks that explore themes such as love and heartbreak, longing for adventure, chasing dreams and finding happiness in your twenties. Beautiful Daydream received praise from radio stations and publications like Amazing Radio, Future Hits Radio, BBC Radio Scotland, The Scotsman, Netsounds, SNACK Mag, The Skinny, and Northern Exposure Magazine.

“An impressive debut which should appeal to a mainstream audience as well as a more traditional folk one. For fans of Katie Melua or Eva Cassidy, Liv Dawn is a name you will likely continue to hear for a while yet.” - Northern Exposure Magazine

In 2024, Liv had a busy year with numerous performances across the country. She started the year by performing at Celtic Connections and later had the incredible opportunity to support Tide Lines at the Barrowland Ballroom in April. Throughout the summer, she played at festivals like Live in Loch Goil, Skye Live and Edinburgh Fringe, and showcased at Off The Record. In December, Liv joined Tide Lines on their Scottish Homeward Bound tour. She also supported Skerryvore at Stirling Albert Halls and performed at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.

In January 2025, Liv released a live EP, Daydreams, performed and recorded live with her band at Waterfront Studios. The EP captures the energy of her live shows and her deep connection with her audience.

Liv is now working on a new EP, set for release in the summer of 2025, which blends folk, rock, and country influences with her core singer-songwriter sound. She will also be heading out on tour with her band to support the new release and remains committed to creating music that resonates with listeners through her heartfelt lyrics and captivating vocals.
