REROOT presents - COMMON GROUND I - 27th MARCH at 6:00pm
- Date: 27-02-2025
- Time: 18:00
- Price: Pay what you can - £6 suggested.
Common Ground is the highly anticipated sequel to the juggernaut success documentary, Kiss the Ground, which touched over 1 billion people globally and inspired the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to put $20 billion toward soil health. By fusing journalistic expose’ with deeply personal stories from those on the front lines of the food movement, Common Ground unveils a dark web of money, power, and politics behind our broken food system. The film reveals how unjust practices forged our current farm system in which farmers of all colors are literally dying to feed us. The film profiles a hopeful and uplifting movement of white, black, and indigenous farmers who are using alternative “regenerative” models of agriculture that could balance the climate, save our health, and stabilize America’s economy – before it’s too late.

- Time: 17:00
- Price: £12 /£10 Concession U/30s Free
Based on the true story of whistleblower Maureen Kearney, Jean-Paul Salome’s political thriller plays to the strengths of its star.
"The story of Maureen Kearney is one of the most confounding scandals of the present day. Kearney was a labor representative for workers in the French nuclear industry. In the early part of the 2010s, the Irish-born Kearney discovered dealings that would throw France’s nuclear sector into the hands of Chinese interests> one of many results would be a lot of workers made redundant, that is, fired. When she tried to expose these dealings, she was threatened. Maureen is assaulted in her home by an unknown assailant and discovered bound to a chair in the basement by her cleaner. Horrifically, she’s left with a letter ‘A’ carved into her stomach by means of a knife also used to sexually assault her.
