Skye Bridge Studios was a venue for Scotland on Tour: whose fund helps to create new concerts and bring world class music to towns and villages across Scotland.
Here are some highlights from our Scotland on Tour programme:
Hannah Rarity, one of Scotland’s finest singers, preformed a carefully chosen mix of traditional, contemporary, and self-penned material at the studios (6/10/2022).
Kim Edgar preformed her new album ‘Consequences’ at the studios (2/9/2022)… emotion and connection are at the heart of this Edinburgh-based pianist and song writer’s work: through observed and lived experiences, Kim ponders what is to be human, creating stories told with honesty and empathy that open hearts, minds and discussions.
Ali Affleck - Vocalist, percussionist and early Jazz historian Ali is equally at home with her beloved New Orleans trad jazz and Blues as well as with more contemporary flavors, and with such distinct vocal styling she inevitably draws comparisons to the most memorable of Jazz divas such as Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and Peggy Lee (8/7/2022).
As well as being a venue for Scotland on Tour, we have a very constructive relationship with the National School of Excellence in Traditional Music. We have featured many items of music provided by the students.
Two examples of their concerts were: a full concert in aid of Counselling Care in June 2022, and providing the support programme for Lewis Mclaughlin at the end of 2022.
We are keen to encourage local talent and are always on the lookout for musicians to support headline acts.
Recent examples include: Local musician Kristen Macbeth supporting brownbear in November 2022, as well as Rachael Henderson and Lucy Livingstone supporting Kim Edgar’s live performance in September 2022.
